(பொ–ரை.) பாண்டியன் மனமகிழ நாற்பொருளையும் முப்பாலிற் குறள் வெண்பாவாற் கூறியவர் தெய்வப் புலமைத் திருவள்ளுவரே.

Adhereing to the first pa, authored his poetry

The Muppal with four Paals - Paandya king

always possessing a sharp Spear was pleased

by divine Thiruvalluvar.

Paals shall be considered as inner divisions of thirukkural. According to tamil literatures life on earth is of Four Paals (Aram(virtue), Porul(wealth), Inbam(Happyness), Veedu(Abode)) which were covered by thiruvalluvar in his Three divsions or Paals.
