செறிவறிந்து சீர்மை பயக்கும் அறிவறிந்து
ஆற்றின் அடங்கப் பெறின்

அறியவேண்டியவற்றை அறிந்து, நல்வழியில்‌ அடங்கி ஒழுகப்‌ பெற்றால்‌, அந்த அடக்கம்‌ நல்லோரால்‌ அறியப்பட்டு மேன்மை பயக்கும்‌.

அறிவு அறிந்து ஆற்றின் அடங்கப் பெறின்-'அடங்குதலே நமக்கு அறிவாவது' என்று அறிந்து நெறியானே ஒருவன் அடங்கப் பெறின்; செறிவு அறிந்து சீர்மை பயக்கும்-அவ்வடக்கம் நல்லோரான் அறியப்பட்டு அவனுக்கு விழுப்பத்தைக் கொடுக்கும்.

Manakkudavar

(இதன் பொருள்) அறியப்படுவனவும் அறிந்து அடக்கப்படுவனவும் அறிந்து நெறி யினானே யடங்கப் பெறின், அவ்வடக்கம் நன்மை பயக்கும்,
(என்றவாறு). அறியப்படுவன - சுவை ஒளி ஊறு ஓசை நாற்றம் அடக்கப்படுவன - மெய் வாய் கண் மூக்குச் செவி.
